Чир Russian Photography Academies for Foriegners? |
|
Hello all! (My apologies but I do not read, write, or speak Russian). I am an American photographer interested in attending a good photography school in Russia, accepting foreign students. I am also interested in learning the Russian language and culture. It would be a big bonus if the school also offered such courses. Any information in regards to this would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Evan |
I could offer my private photography lessons for you in Kiev (Ukraine). What kind of photography would you like to study?
In the same time you could learn Russian.
All the Best,
Val Krey
you could have a look here but it’s only in Russian www.moscollege.ru I study there and it’s not too bad. But for my opinion, if you really want to study photography it’s better to go to London or Prague. If you have any questions you could write me el45@rambler.ru.
Helen... There’s just something about Russia that I find very interesting =)... Honestly, I don’t really know much about Russia but the country seems to have a rich history in Art. Prague also sounds very interesting but I hear that it is quite expensive to live there! Could you offer any recommendations in Prague? Thanks again!
So as Russia, actually. Probably Saint Petersburg and Kiev are two of the most beautiful cities.
But (there is always a but), based on my 26-years experience living there, don’t think you understand what you are getting into if you are planning on spending few years in school there. The premise of being a student is (at least was) quite different there from the rest of the world, trust me. You will have fun though, that’s for sure. As far as education itself- well, I am not sure that there is such thing as Russian school of photography, although there is plenty of talent there.
Good luck in any case.
